Seven houses in Maradhoo-Feydhoo have been damaged due to strong winds.
Khalida Mohamed, the Addu City Council member representing Maradhoo-Feydhoo, told "One" today that some houses in Maradhoo-Feydhoo have had their roofs blown off due to strong winds. The most significant damage was to the mortuary.
"Some houses have lost two or three tin sheets, while others have had their entire roofs blown off. The mortuary and a private residence have had their roofs completely blown off," she said.
Khalida said that seven houses have been damaged and the wall of the mortuary has completely collapsed. However, she said no one has been injured.
"Reports are still coming in. We're still assessing the exact extent of the damage. Various ward offices have sent people to different areas as reports come in. We need everyone's help," she said.
Khalida also said that the main road has been closed due to this incident and that the help of the island's residents is needed at this time. She also mentioned that the information has been shared with the relevant authorities.
