Two individuals have been arrested in connection with a case of robbing by threatening someone with a knife.

Those arrested are Mohamed Lameer (29) of Seereenmanzil, HA. Filladhoo, and Ali Haisal (37) of Arairu, Thundi, L. Gan.

When presented to court for a detention hearing, the court ordered four days of detention for Ali Haisal and 15 days for Mohamed Lameer.

The police said today that the two were arrested in connection with a case reported on August 31 this year, where they allegedly contacted someone via Facebook Messenger, claimed to have their nude videos, threatened them, took them to Hulhumalé, threatened them with a knife, withdrew money from their account, filmed them naked, and demanded more money.

The two were arrested on the 4th of this month during an operation at the apartment where they live, according to the police.

When searching the apartment, police found three mobile phones, three wristwatches, a drone, a pair of binoculars, two sunglasses, a silver necklace, and a silver ring. The police said all these items are believed to be stolen from various people, and six knives were also found in the apartment.

"Two more cases have been reported where Mohamed Lameer and Ali Haisal contacted people through various social media platforms, claimed to have nude videos, threatened them, took them to their apartment, threatened them with knives, filmed them naked, and obtained money," the police said.

The police said these cases are under investigation.

As it is believed that the two have robbed others through threats as well, the police have requested anyone who has experienced similar incidents from these individuals to report it.
