Ibrahim Falah, the Parliamentary Group Leader of the ruling People's National Congress, has stated that he has purchased three additional plots of land in R. Innamaadhoo and one in Hulhumalé, in addition to the three plots already registered in his name in Innamaadhoo.
According to Falah's financial statement, he currently has four properties registered in his name. These are Falak, Faiy, and Asuruhiya in R. Innamaadhoo, and M. Asurukuri in Malé, which he bought for MVR 4 million. He did not disclose the prices of the plots bought in Innamaadhoo.
In a post on X, Falah said that in addition to the properties currently in his name, he has bought three more plots in Innamaadhoo and one in Hulhumalé, but the registration process for these properties is not yet complete.
"There are three plots from Innamaadhoo in the process of registration transfer, and the plot bought from Hulhumalé is also in the registration transfer process. I tried very hard to complete it in time for this year's financial statement, but it wasn't possible," Falah said.
"It's very important to amend laws to require former presidents, judges, and all those in responsible positions, as well as their children under 18 and spouses, to submit financial statements," Falah said.
According to Falah's financial statement, he receives MVR 900,000 annually from the People's Majlis as income. He also receives MVR 900,000 as salary from his companies during the same period.
Additionally, Falah stated that he earned MVR 3.2 million from renting out properties. His total income is listed as MVR 5,076,000 in the financial statement.
