The Civil Service Commission (CSC) has announced that periods of service in state-run institutions and state-owned companies not formally part of the civil service will now be counted when calculating retirement benefits.
According to the CSC, this decision applies to employees who have worked in companies with significant government ownership, as well as other state institutions outside the civil service framework.
The commission has instructed current civil servants with such prior experience to update their records in the “experience” section of CSView.
To assist employees, the CSC has also shared a sample format for preparing an experience declaration document. The sample outlines the criteria for selection and appointment, along with other details required under the policy.
