Maldives and China have signed 11 agreements to strengthen cooperation across a range of sectors.

The agreements were signed at a ceremony held at the Wangfujing Hilton Hotel in Beijing, attended by President Dr Mohamed Muizzu.

According to the President’s Office, the agreements cover areas such as economic development, infrastructure projects, and renewable energy. They are expected to play a key role in promoting sustainable development and further deepening the close ties between the two countries.

President Muizzu is currently in China on an official visit at the invitation of President Xi Jinping to attend the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation (SCO) Summit.
