The Ministry of Housing has stated that among those relocating from HDh. Hirimaradhoo to Hanimaadhoo, houses will be given to those who had plots in Hirimaradhoo by the 24th of this month.

In a press release issued today, the Housing Ministry said that even those who had plots in Hirimaradhoo but hadn't built houses would receive houses in Hanimaadhoo.

Therefore, those who have plots in Hirimaradhoo have been urged not to transfer their plots to others, divide the plots, or make any changes to the plot registrations that would alter their ownership status.

An agreement has been signed with the Housing Development Corporation (HDC) to build housing units for the people of Hirimaradhoo relocating to Hanimaadhoo.

The government decided to relocate the people of HDh. Hirimaradhoo to Hanimaadhoo on February 1st of this year.

In a meeting held in Hirimaradhoo on the 24th of this month, President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu said that for every plot in Hirimaradhoo, a plot would be given in Hanimaadhoo. He mentioned that according to the council, there are currently 154 plots in Hirimaradhoo. The President also said that houses would be built on the Hanimaadhoo plots and handed over to the people of Hirimaradhoo.

The President has stated that the relocation of the people of HDh. Hirimaradhoo to Hanimaadhoo will be completed within at least 18 months.
