A body has been discovered in Hulhumalé under what police described as suspicious circumstances.

The remains were found near Cafeier, Hulhumalé, in the area designated for the construction of the Hulhumalé Water Theme Park. An eyewitness told 'One' that the body appeared to have been severely mutilated.

Police confirmed the discovery in a message to the media today, noting that officers had been deployed to the scene. They added that further details will be released as the investigation continues.
