Construction of a new mosque in Nellaidhoo commenced today, inaugurated by Islamic Minister Dr Mohamed Shaheem Ali Saeed at a ceremony held on the island, as part President Dr Mohamed Muizzu's ongoing tour of the atoll.

The event was attended by the President of Nellaidhoo Council, council members, and several government ministers.

Speaking to residents, President Dr Muizzu said the mosque will be a modern facility equipped with a library, classroom space, full air-conditioning, and powered by solar energy.

The mosque project has been awarded to Fenaka Corporation.
