The foundation for a new health centre in Nellaidhoo was laid today in a ceremony attended by President Dr Mohamed Muizzu, Health Minister Abdulla Nazim Ibrahim, and Maldives Transport and Contracting Company (MTCC) CEO Ahmed Saudy.
The ceremony was also joined by the President of Nellaidhoo Council, council members, and several government ministers.
The project, valued at MVR 11 million, is scheduled to be completed within three months. The new three-storey facility will include a 10-bed ward, a laboratory, a public health unit, and other essential services.
Speaking to residents, President Dr Muizzu said the completion of the project would significantly improve healthcare on the island, with the Government aiming to provide 24-hour medical services once the centre becomes operational.
