President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu and First Lady Sajida Mohamed have departed for HA. Utheemu to participate in National Day activities.

Celebrating National Day at a national level in Utheemu is a pledge made by President Muizzu.

In addition to the Presidential couple, Vice President Hussain Mohamed Latheef and Speaker of the People's Majlis Abdul Raheem Abdulla have also arrived in Utheemu for the official National Day ceremony.

At today's National Day ceremony in Utheemu, the President will present the State Honor to a recipient, and the National Award of Honor recipients will receive the Shield of Honor, Badge of Honor, and commemorative documents from the President.

The President will also present commemorative plaques and documents to the recipients of the National Award of Recognition.

The President is also scheduled to participate in the foundation laying ceremony of the Boduthakurufaanu Gate being developed in Utheemu.

The first day of Rabi' al-awwal is celebrated as National Day every year.
