Ahmed Azaan Marzooq, the PNC member for Hithadhoo Central constituency, has been reassigned to the Parliament's Committee on National Security Services (241 Committee) and the Public Accounts Committee.

The Speaker of the People's Majlis, Abdul Raheem Abdulla, announced this at the beginning of today's parliamentary session.

Azaan was removed from these important and powerful parliamentary committees on March 3 of this year.

His removal from the committees came after he left the parliament floor during a roll-call vote on a government-proposed bill to amend the Courts Act, which would reduce the number of Supreme Court judges by two. Instead of voting to pass the bill, Azaan left the chamber while the roll-call vote was in progress, leading to complications.
