Housing Development Corporation (HDC) has commenced installing bus stops in Hulhumalé Phase 2 to ensure convenient public transport access for residents moving into the newly built flats under the Gedhoruveriya housing scheme.
A total of 4,000 flats are being developed across 32 towers in the area, with India’s NBCC and JMC Projects each constructing 2,000 units. The development includes 2,800 three-bedroom apartments measuring 900 square feet and 1,200 two-bedroom units of 650 square feet.
Meanwhile, the Fahi Dhiriulhun Corporation (FDC) has been formalising housing agreements with recipients. As of 15 August, 1,202 agreements had been signed.
In anticipation of the population increase once the flats are occupied, the Government has announced additional services for Hulhumalé Phase 2, including a major park in Farukolhufushi, with development expected to commence soon.
