The Maldives Transport and Contracting Company (MTCC) has been awarded the contract for the land reclamation project in B. Hithaadhoo.

Minister for Construction, Housing and Infrastructure, Dr Abdulla Muththalib signed the land acquisition agreement on behalf of the government. MTCC Chief Executive Officer Ahmed Southee signed on behalf of the company.

Under the project, MTCC will reclaim 15 hectares of land, install 691 metres of revetment around the reclaimed area, and remove six 25-metre piles. The project, valued at MVR 137 million, is to be completed within 450 days.
