President Dr Mohamed Muizzu has reaffirmed his Administration’s commitment to securing qualified teachers for Fehendhoo, pledging to take all necessary measures to fulfil this presidential promise.
Speaking at a meeting with residents this evening during his visit to Baa Atoll, the President noted the acute shortage of teachers on the island, particularly for classes beyond Year 6. He said the Ministry of Education was making extensive efforts to address the issue, with the Government prepared to offer special incentives to attract and retain teachers in the community.
The President also stated that, in the absence of sufficient teachers, the Government was ready to provide teacher training to local residents to ensure that educational needs were met.
In addition, he announced that development work on the Fehendhoo Health Centre and the establishment of sports facilities would commence later this year.
