The practical work of land reclamation for B. Thulhaadhoo Airport project has begun today.

The land reclamation work was officially launched in a ceremony attended by President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu during his ongoing trip to Baa Atoll.

At the ceremony, the Minister of Construction, Housing and Infrastructure, Dr. Abdullah Muttalib, officially commenced the land reclamation work. The ceremony was attended by President Dr. Muizzu, MTCC CEO Ahmed Saudi, some government ministers, and members of the Thulhaadhoo Council.

The Ministry of Construction, Housing and Infrastructure has awarded the Thulhaadhoo Airport land reclamation project to MTCC. The contract was signed yesterday. The project is valued at MVR 570,260,350.80 million. MTCC has been given 660 days to complete the work.

President Muizzu had promised to build a high-quality airport and reclaim land in Thulhaadhoo during his visit to the island on March 4, 2024.
