The 16th edition of the Dhiraagu Maldives Road Race (DMRR) will take place on 24 October at Hulhumalé Central Park, featuring a completely new race route certified to international standards.

This year’s route is designed to offer participants a refreshed running experience, with the aim of encouraging more runners from corporate teams, local communities, and international participants. The event continues to promote a healthy lifestyle and a stronger running culture in the Maldives.

Registrations are currently open and will close once the 4,000-participant limit is reached. Interested individuals can register via the official website: www.dmrr.mv.

Participants can compete in the following categories:

  • Half Marathon (10 km)
  • 5 km individual race5 km
  • Corporate Team category (four-member teams from workplaces and resorts)

Winners will receive significant cash prizes, with a total of MVR 280,000 allocated for this year’s race.

The event also supports charitable causes. Dhiraagu will provide MVR 200,000 in financial assistance to five NGOs with the highest number of registered participants. These funds will help implement planned child protection initiatives. In addition, MVR 100 from each registration and all proceeds from the sale of special bib numbers will be donated equally to the selected NGOs.
