President Dr Mohamed Muizzu has reaffirmed the Maldives' commitment to deepening cooperation with Sri Lanka to achieve shared goals of peace, progress, and prosperity.

Speaking at a state banquet held in honour of visiting Sri Lankan President Anura Kumara Dissanayake, President Dr Muizzu highlighted the strong bond between the two countries, rooted in six decades of diplomatic ties, shared history, and close cultural connections.

He praised the generosity and hospitality of the Sri Lankan people and noted the growing cooperation between the two nations across various sectors, including tourism, digital technology, security, and cultural exchange. These efforts, he said, reflect a shared commitment to development and adapting to global challenges.

President Dr Muizzu described the official talks between the two delegations as productive and expressed confidence in the future of bilateral relations. He concluded by reaffirming the Maldives’ commitment to working with Sri Lanka to create new opportunities, support sustainable development, and promote regional stability.
