Parliament Speaker Abdul Raheem Abdulla has departed for Switzerland to participate in the Sixth World Conference of Speakers of Parliament.

Organised by the Inter-Parliamentary Union (IPU), the conference will be held from 29th to 31st July. Convened every five years, it serves as a key platform for parliamentary leaders from around the globe to contribute to shaping and reinforcing the parliamentary dimension of global governance.

This year’s theme is “A world without stability: cooperation and international solidarity of parliaments for peace, justice and prosperity for all.” The conference aims to address democratic shortfalls in international affairs and promote global peace, justice, and cooperation through stronger parliamentary engagement.
