A man has been arrested in connection with the fatal stabbing of a 29-year-old man in L. Maavah on Sunday morning.

The victim has been identified as Moosa Ibrahim, a resident of L. Maavah. According to police, Moosa sustained fatal injuries after being stabbed inside a car. He was rushed to a nearby hospital but was declared dead on arrival.

Police have arrested 29-year-old Mohamed Ibrahim, originally from Nolhivaranfaru, in relation to the incident. He is currently in custody.

Initial investigations suggest the incident stemmed from a personal altercation between the two men.

The Maldives Police Service received the report of the assault at approximately 10:12 a.m. and has confirmed that a further investigation is underway.
