President Dr Mohamed Muizzu has officially inaugurated the Hulhumalé Dialysis Centre, which will provide treatment for patients with kidney diseases. The inauguration ceremony was held today at the Orange Hiyaa Building in Hulhumalé.
The event included a video presentation showcasing the new facility, followed by a tour of the centre by President Dr Muizzu. The centre is operated under the Malé City Group of Hospitals.
With a capacity of 30 beds, the centre is expected to ease access to dialysis services for patients who would otherwise need to travel abroad for treatment. The government aims to reduce the number of Maldivians seeking healthcare overseas by improving local facilities.
According to the President's Office, over MVR 400 million worth of healthcare projects are currently ongoing across the country as part of broader efforts to strengthen the national health system.
