President Dr Mohamed Muizzu has honoured 94 individuals in recognition of their long-standing service to the Maldives. The awards were presented by President Dr Muizzu at a special ceremony held this morning at the Social Centre to celebrate Independence Day.

The recipients were awarded the national Badge of Honour and a commemorative shield. According to the President’s Office, these prestigious accolades are conferred at the national level to recognise individuals who have rendered exceptional service to the state for over 35 years.

This year’s honourees have each served the nation for more than 40 years. The President’s Office also confirmed that those who have served between 35 and 39 years will be recognised separately during the Republic Day celebrations later this year.

The selection of awardees was carried out by the National Awards Committee, which oversees the evaluation and recommendation process for state honours.
