President Dr Mohamed Muizzu has emphasised the importance of national unity and placing the country above all else, stating that such a mindset is essential for achieving meaningful development. His remarks were delivered during the inauguration ceremony of the new terminal at Velana International Airport.

He reiterated that major achievements, such as the newly opened terminal, can only be realised when the country’s interests are prioritised over individual, political, or societal differences.

He called for unity in vision and purpose, urging Maldivians to speak with one voice and work together for the common good. According to the President, this collective approach is key to ensuring a prosperous future for the next generation.

President Dr Muizzu also stated that national development is a shared responsibility and that no one is exempt from contributing to the country’s progress. He expressed confidence that if citizens and leaders work in harmony, more large-scale projects like the new terminal could be successfully implemented.

He further noted that working together would not only lead to national development but also enhance infrastructure and community wellbeing across the Maldives.
