President Dr Mohamed Muizzu has announced that coastal protection and road development works in N. Miladhoo will begin in August. He made the announcement while meeting residents during his tour of South Miladhunmadulu Atoll.

The coastal protection project will be carried out by the Maldives Transport and Contracting Company (MTCC), while the Road Development Corporation (RDC) will handle road works. Plans are being finalised with the Island Council to ensure the coastal project allows for future land reclamation and convenient beach access.

President Dr Muizzu said Miladhoo’s water supply project and new health centre are nearly complete. He also promised to address staffing shortages by deploying more nurses to the health facility.

Regarding housing, he confirmed that the 50-unit housing project will proceed based on the community’s choice of either individual homes or grouped units. The President assured residents that all pledged development projects will be delivered.
