Maldives Airports Company Limited (MACL) has announced temporary changes to traffic flow at Velana International Airport (VIA) on Saturday night to facilitate preparations for the opening ceremony of the airport’s new passenger terminal on 26 July.
From 7:00 pm to 11:30 pm, only authorised vehicles will be allowed to enter and exit the airport premises. During this period, taxis and private vehicles will have access only up to the police post and the parking area on the east side, while MACL-operated vehicles will manage transport to the terminal area.
Despite the restrictions, ferry and bus services between Malé and Hulhumalé will continue as usual, ensuring connectivity for passengers. MACL has thanked the public for their cooperation during this time.
