Authorities have confirmed that Hassan Yameen, a 30-year-old man who was reported missing from Malé City, jumped off a bridge in the early hours of 12 July, as confirmed to 'One' by police.

In a statement released later, Police revealed that CCTV footage from the bridge captured the incident. Efforts are ongoing, in collaboration with the Maldives National Defence Force (MNDF), to recover Yameen’s body.

According to the police, Yameen’s family reported him missing on 14 July at around 8:30 pm, after he left his home the previous day at approximately 9:25 pm. The police launched an investigation immediately, notifying all relevant departments and agencies.

Investigators have confirmed that Yameen did not leave the country. A large amount of CCTV footage has been reviewed, and searches carried out at his residence, with no signs of foul play or unusual activity discovered.

Police stated that they are working closely with Yameen’s family and continuing all efforts to locate him.
