President Dr Mohamed Muizzu has emphasised that his administration will continue to serve the public irrespective of political differences with local councils.

During his visit to Kudafari in Noonu Atoll, he indirectly addressed the Kudafari Council, which consists of members of the Maldives Development Alliance (MDA), a party that recently withdrew from the ruling coalition. The council has no representatives from the ruling People’s National Congress (PNC).

The President highlighted that his government’s focus is on directly engaging with communities, understanding their needs, and delivering services without allowing political disputes to become an obstacle. He noted that, even when elected councils or representatives have disagreements with the government, development efforts will continue as planned.

He also stressed that Kudafari is a collective community and urged all residents to work with the government to advance the island’s development.
