Maldives Airports Company Limited (MACL) has dismissed social media rumours suggesting changes to the salaries and allowances of its employees. In a statement, the company clarified that no discussions or plans have been made regarding any alterations to employee remuneration.

MACL described the circulating claims as baseless and intended to create confusion among staff during preparations for the opening of the new Velana International Airport terminal. The company reaffirmed its commitment to maintaining existing salary structures and supporting the welfare of its workforce, which it considers its most valuable asset.

The statement further urged those spreading misinformation to act responsibly and emphasised the importance of sharing accurate information. MACL also expressed appreciation for the continued dedication and service of its employees.
