The President's Office has announced that Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi will visit the Maldives on Friday at the invitation of President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu.
The President's Office stated today that Modi will visit the Maldives from the 25th to the 26th of this month.
According to the President's Office, during this trip, President Muizzu and Prime Minister Modi will hold high-level discussions on issues related to both countries and various regional matters.
In addition, they will inaugurate some projects completed in the Maldives with Indian assistance and sign additional Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs), the President's Office said.
The President's Office further stated that this visit is particularly special as it coincides with the 60th anniversary of Maldives' independence and the 60th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Maldives and India.
This is Modi's first visit to the Maldives since President Muizzu took office.
