The Fahi Dhiriulhun Corporation (FDC) has decided to start signing agreements with recipients of 4000 flats developed in the second phase of Hulhumalé under the previous government's housing project, Gedhoruveryaa Scheme, starting next Monday.
The Housing Ministry has tasked FDC with the process of signing agreements in accordance with the flat list determined by the ministry.
In a statement released today, FDC said that the signing process will take place from 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM on designated days at specific areas of the Hulhumalé Synthetic Track. These areas will be announced through FDC's official channels.
The signing process will prioritize towers where units are completed and ready for handover. Recipients will be scheduled for signing through FDC's "Fahi Portal" and notified of their date and time.
Documents required for signing the agreement:
- A clear copy of both sides of the tenant's ID card
- A clear copy of both sides of the co-applicant's ID card
- Original and copy of the witness's ID card
- Original form signed by the responsible party
- Other relevant documents
FDC stated that if the flat tenant cannot attend the signing, a power of attorney must be submitted.
FDC plans to hand over the flats after completing finishing work. The flats will be handed over with fans, windows, doors, tiles, paint, bathroom fixtures, and sinks installed.
FDC further stated that their main goal is to provide sustainable social housing at affordable prices.
According to the latest information from FDC, 90 percent of the work on the 4000 flats has been completed. Some units will also be made available as commercial spaces for new businesses.
In a press conference held on the 29th of last month, Mutthalib stated that only 1,000 flats out of the 4,000 have been completed so far. However, he mentioned that water and electricity connections will be finished in July, and all flats will be handed over by the end of September.
