Raajje Transport Link (RTL) has officially transferred the management of 12 ferry stops and six ferry terminals to respective island councils as part of efforts to decentralise operations and enhance local service delivery.

According to a statement by the civic body, the ferry terminals and stops will now be maintained by the councils, with facilities available for passenger use at each location.

The terminals were handed over to the following councils:

  • Haa Dhaalu Hanimaadhoo (14 May 2025)
  • Haa Alif Horafushi (15 May 2025)
  • Haa Alif Ihavandhoo (15 May 2025)
  • Baa Bilehfahi (18 May 2025)
  • Baa Funadhoo (18 May 2025)
  • Haa Alif Dhidhdhoo (8 July 2025)

Ferry stops were handed over to:

  • Haa Dhaalu Finey, Muraidhoo (14 May 2025)
  • Haa Alif Molhadhoo, Marandhoo, Thuraakunu, Uligam (15 May 2025)
  • Baa Feydhoo, Komandoo (18 May 2025)
  • Haa Dhaalu Vaikaradhoo, Kumundhoo, Baa Goidhoo (30 June 2025)
  • Haa Alif Baarah (8 July 2025)

The RTL service is part of a nationwide public transport project aimed at improving affordable sea transport. The project is structured in three phases and six zones, covering the entire country.
