President Dr Mohamed Muizzu departed for the United Kingdom this evening to take part in a series of high-level meetings and events.

He is accompanied by a senior delegation and will engage in discussions focused on strengthening Maldives–UK relations. Key topics include governance, climate and environmental matters, as well as boosting cooperation in trade, investment, and education. The President is also set to attend a business forum in London.

The visit aims to deepen the long-standing partnership between the Maldives and the UK, built on mutual respect and trust.

This year marks 60 years since the Maldives established diplomatic relations with the United Kingdom on 26 July 1965.
