Police have launched an investigation into the death of a 43-year-old man who was declared dead upon arrival at Indira Gandhi Memorial Hospital (IGMH) on Monday morning.

According to a statement issued by the Maldives Police Service, the man was found unresponsive in a room at his residence and rushed to the hospital at around 10:10 a.m.

Medical personnel confirmed his death shortly after his arrival at IGMH. Police said there were no visible external injuries on the body, but the circumstances surrounding his death are being investigated.

Authorities have not ruled out foul play and are continuing inquiries to determine the cause and timeline of events leading to the man’s death.
