President Dr Mohamed Muizzu has extended his condolences on the passing of prominent Maldivian biomedical research scientist Ibrahim Mustafa.
Mustafa, aged 57, passed away at a private hospital in Kochi, India, after his health deteriorated. He had been residing in Dubai, United Arab Emirates, and his funeral was held in India.
He was recognised nationally for his contributions to the scientific and health sectors, notably receiving the President's Special Award for Excellence in Education in 2012. President Dr Muizzu acknowledged his work in biomedical research and expressed sympathy to his family, praying for peace for his departed soul.
Mustafa was widely respected for his efforts in advancing healthcare research in the Maldives.
