Ministry of Higher Education has invited applications from students selected for the President’s Scholarship, following the 2024 Higher Secondary Examination results.
In a recent notice, the ministry stated that students who received scholarship offer letters must now apply to fulfil the necessary requirements outlined in the scholarship policy. Applications, along with all required documents, must be submitted in a timely manner to allow for classes to begin within the policy’s 18-month timeframe.
Eligible candidates must apply through the ministry’s 'My Edu' portal by 30 September. The President’s Special Scholarship covers full expenses for undergraduate studies in any field of the student’s choice.
To qualify, students must have earned A grades in at least five subjects*, including Islam and local subjects, and a C grade or higher in English.
High Achievers’ Scholarships, based on the National Training Needs List, are awarded to students who attained A grades in at least three subjects, including Islamic Studies under the Maldivian curriculum. These scholarships cover education in SAARC countries and selected nations such as Malaysia, China, and OECD members.
Earlier this year, at an awards ceremony for the top 10 A-level students, 11 students received the President’s Scholarship while 87 students were granted High Achievers’ Scholarships.
