Bollywood actress Deepika Padukone has become the first Indian woman to receive a star on the famous Hollywood Walk of Fame. The announcement was made by the Hollywood Chamber of Commerce during a global livestream on Wednesday, 2 July, as part of the 2026 honouree list.
Her husband, actor Ranveer Singh, congratulated her through his Instagram story. The couple, who married in November 2018, had their first child—a daughter—in September 2024.
This year’s Walk of Fame list includes 35 names across five categories: Film, Television, Live Theatre/Performance, Music, and Sports Entertainment. Other celebrities on the list include Emily Blunt, Rachel McAdams, Demi Moore, and Gordon Ramsay.
Also representing Asia is Filipino singer and actress Lea Salonga—famous for voicing Mulan and Princess Jasmine—who will receive a star for her work in live theatre.
Now 39, Padukone is a major star in both Bollywood and Hollywood. She first gained fame in 2007 with Om Shanti Om, opposite Shah Rukh Khan, and made her Hollywood debut in 2017 in xXx: Return of Xander Cage, alongside Vin Diesel.
