The People's Majlis Information and Community Committee meeting held today to gather information on the circulation of photos and videos on social media that violate social norms, various scams and pyramid schemes, and gambling sites has been made confidential.

The police requested to make the committee meeting confidential, which included representatives from the police, MNDF, and the Communications Authority of Maldives (CAM). This was due to some security reasons and information that should not be disclosed to the public.

The motion to make the committee confidential was proposed by Henveiru South constituency member Hussein Imran Lateef, following the police's request. It was seconded by the committee's deputy chair, Machangolhi North constituency member Ibrahim Mohamed.

When put to a vote, the committee members unanimously agreed to make the meeting confidential and cut off the live broadcast.

The chair of the Information and Community Committee is PNC member Hassan Mufeed Abdul Gadir, representing the Milandhoo constituency.
