Winds expected between 50-55 mph, alert issued expecting rough seas

National Meteorological Service has advised caution due to rough seas being caused from the winds picking up to 50 to 55 mph.

The MET Office said that heavy rain is expected across the country for the next 24 hours.

Wind in the South and South West atolls are expected to be between 8-15 mph while it is expected to be between 15-25 mph in the North and Central atolls and occasional pick-ups to 50-55 mph.

Seas are expected to be rough in the North and Central atolls while it is moderate in the South and South West.

Waves are expected to be 3 to 6 feet high in the North and Central atolls with sea swells during high tide.
