President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih has said that the MOU signed regarding the facilitation of training for civil servants was an investment to build their capacity and a crucial agreement for the development of human resources.
Speaking during the join press meet after the signing of six MOUs between the countries, President Solih stressed that his government is focused on developing human resources. As such, he noted that the first MOU signed between the countries today was regarding the development of human resources.
The MOU between the Maldives’ Civil Service and the National Centre for Good Governance, will facilitate trainings and capacity building programs for Maldivian civil servants in a wide range of fields. A total of 1000 Maldivian civil servants will be trained and the Indian Government will provide the full expenses.
The second MOU signed today was intended to strengthen the capacity of Maldives’ Customs and help modernize their services.
The MOU will be facilitating knowledge exchange on best international practice pertinent to customs; development of training and capacity building programs for customs officials, and will help promote a uniform understanding of customs related policies, procedures, and systems.
