The Presidential Commission has met and questioned Raudh Ahmed Zilaal (21), who is in police custody in connection with the case of Hawwa Yumnu Rasheed falling onto the roof of a warehouse adjacent to H. Fentenoy.
President Muizzu established this commission on the 27th of last month. At a press conference held at the President's Office on the 30th of last month, the Commission's President Dr. Mohamed Munawwar said that a special portal would be introduced to share information about the incident of Yumnu's fall. He also said that they would visit places related to the incident to gather information for the investigation and would share the commission's work on this case with the public.
The Presidential Commission said in a post on X today that they met with Raudhu today and questioned him about the incident.
Raudh was with Yumnu when she fell onto the warehouse roof. Police arrested Raudh in this case on the 24th of last month. When brought to court the next day for a detention hearing, he was initially detained for five days. Subsequently, the Criminal Court extended Raudh's detention by 10 days on the 30th of last month. Then last Saturday, the Criminal Court further extended Raudh's detention by another 10 days.
After receiving treatment at IGMH, Yumnu is now being treated at a hospital in Malaysia. Yumnu was taken to Malaysia for further treatment late on the 27th of last month. As Yumnu's condition improves, she regained consciousness on the fourth of this month.
In a video interview given to Channel 13 on the night of the eighth of this month, Yumnu's sister said on behalf of her family that Yumnu did not jump from the building, and that Yumnu had said it was something done by somed said it was something done by some people.
Yumnu's sister said that on the night of the incident, Yumnu went to Fentenoy in response to an invitation from H. Meenaaz / Yoosuf Yassaar Abdul Gafoor, who is among those banned from leaving the country by police in connection with this case, who had sent her the location.
