M. Atoll's first airport, Muli Airport, has been developed and opened for operations.
Regional Airports Company Limited (RACL) said that the work on this airport has been completely finished and it has been opened for flights. RACL said that opportunities have been opened for domestic flight operators Maldivian, Villa, and Manta.
The work on Muli Airport was completed and a test flight was conducted on the 25th of last month. Muli Airport is the first airport in M. Atoll.
The development of Muli Airport began in 2021, contracted to MTCC. This airport, built at a cost of over MVR 300 million, features a 1.5-kilometer runway and is developed with the most modern facilities.
36 hectares of land were reclaimed from the island for the airport.
