The police officer who was brought to Male' and was receiving treatment at IGMH after falling ill during police training has died.

The person who died today while receiving treatment at IGMH was Hussain Gaish, 34, of S. Hulhudhoo, who was a recruit police officer. This was confirmed to "One" by a reliable source.

Police have also confirmed to the media that Gaish passed away this evening.

Gaish was brought to Male' on the fourth of this month after falling ill while undergoing training in D. Vaanee.

Police said at the time that Gaish was being treated at IGMH with the help of a ventilator. They also said that his condition was very critical when he was brought to Male'.
