Police have begun investigating a case where a person was found dead inside a house in Male'.

Police said Mohamed Hisham, 40, of M. Aluvimage, was found dead in a house in Maafannu at around 16:40 on the 22nd of this month. However, the cause of his death is not clear.

Police said that after examining the necessary aspects related to the case and consulting with the family regarding the postmortem, arrangements were made to release the body from the mortuary yesterday after making the required decisions, and the family was informed of this.

Police said that since the family expressed their wish to bury Hisham's body today, the body has now been handed over to the family.

It's understood that the family had gone to the police several times due to the delay in handing over Hisham's body.
