A search has begun for a supply boat that departed from GDh. Gadhdhoo for Hulhumale' with five people on board.

Police said in a post on X just now that a boat named "Brilliant Carrier" that left Gadhdhoo for Hulhumale' around 8:00 PM last night has gone missing.

Police said there were five people on the boat, including three Maldivians and two foreigners.

Police said the boat was last contacted at 2:40 AM last night, and at that time the captain said they were approaching the entrance to Huvadhu Atoll. Police said there has been no contact with the boat since then.

This case was reported to Gadhdhoo Police Station at 6:00 PM today, and information has been shared with MNDF's Southern Region Command, police said. They also said that efforts to locate the boat are currently underway.

Police have requested that if anyone has any information about this boat, to inform the National Emergency number 911 or the nearest police station.
