Ali Shujau has resigned from the position of Commissioner of Police.

A senior government official has confirmed this to 'One'.

According to information received by 'One', a meeting of the Police Board was held today. Shujau announced his decision to resign at this meeting.

'One' has also learned that Shujau's resignation letter has now been sent to the President. However, the exact reason for his resignation is not known.

Shujau's decision to resign as Police Commissioner comes at a time when there are calls for his resignation due to criticisms related to the investigation of the case of Hawwa Yumnu, 21, who fell onto the roof of H. Mitaz on the morning of the 18th of this month.
