Police have said that the woman who was found fallen on the roof of a Henveiru house last Friday was in an intoxicated state and that no one else was involved in her fall.
At a sudden press conference held by the police at Iskandar Koshi tonight, some CCTV footage related to the incident was shown and some information was shared.
According to the police, the person found on the roof was Hawwa Umna, 21 years old.
The 21-year-old woman was found fallen on the roof of a house in Henveiru on Friday morning. Her condition deteriorated and she was put on a ventilator the next day.
Police said that eight people including the injured girl went to a house in central Male' and left that house between 12:00-12:30 PM on the 18th. Police said four of them then went to a house in Henveiru area from Ameenee Magu. The injured woman and three men went to that house, with two men going by motorcycle, police said. The injured woman and the other man walked and entered that house, staying there until 4:30 PM that evening, police said.
After that, the woman and man who went to that house walked and entered a house on Buruzu Magu, police said. This was the house the woman fell from. Police said both were in an intoxicated state when they entered that house. They said this was evident from their behavior. They also said the two went up to the 9th floor by stairs and spent some time there.
"They were mostly active on the 7th, 8th, and 9th floors," police said.
Police said the woman fell from the air shaft of the 9th floor, and the man who entered the house with her was on a different floor at the time. Therefore, police said it was not something done with his involvement.
