New vehicles brought to the Maldives National Defence Force (MNDF) were showcased in the parade held in Male' today to mark the 133rd anniversary of the MNDF.
The MNDF march began this evening with a ceremony in front of the President's Office. The ceremony was graced by President and Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces Dr. Mohamed Muizzu. First Lady Sajida Mohamed also accompanied him.
As the parade proceeded through designated streets of Male', military presentations were made at five stops. The parade concluded at Kalhuthukkalaa Koshi.
New armored vehicles recently acquired by the MNDF were displayed in the parade.
While President Muizzu has stated that enhancing the capabilities of the Maldivian military is one of his top priorities, two drones from Turkey have been brought and put into use since he took office.
Recently, Turkey has also decided to gift a Dogan-class missile-capable warship to the Maldives.
