STELCO Managing Director Hussain Fahmy has said that the highest electricity consumption of this year so far was last Thursday.

In a post on X today, Fahmy said that this is a hot season for the Maldives and the felt temperature is rising.

Fahmy said that the highest electricity consumption in the Male' area so far this year was last Thursday, with 114 megawatts of electricity used at 3:00 PM that day. He also said that today at 1:00 PM, Male's load was at 111 megawatts.

He said that paying special attention to electricity consumption is very important. He appealed to use electricity only as much as necessary.

"It's very important for the community and personal benefit for all of us to be aware of this and do what we can individually to economize electricity," Fahmy said.
