Russia has stated that they know very clearly who is running the "Hassan Kurusee" X account, which has been criticizing the government.

In a post on X, Russian Ambassador to the Maldives Levan S. Dzhagaryan said that Hassan Kurusee's claim about chips being imported to Russia through Velana International Airport (VIA) was baseless.

He said that Hassan Kurusee's aim is to weaken the relationship between the Maldives and Russia, and that it's also an attempt to weaken the relationship between Russia and America.

"We know very clearly that this is an account run by a former senior political leader of the Maldives who is in hiding in a European country," the Ambassador said.

Some people have previously suspected that the "Hassan Kurusee" account is run by former President Mohamed Nasheed. This suspicion started because Nasheed used the name "Kurusee" for a fictional character in one of his writings, and because the account tweets in support of Nasheed.

However, Nasheed has said that he has no connection to the Hassan Kurusee account. Nasheed has stated that Hassan Kurusee is a real/fictional character in some of his writings. He also said it's difficult to say whether "Hassan Kurusee" represents his personality.

Later, Nasheed filed a case with the police to find out who is running the "Hassan Kurusee" account. Nasheed said that he is suffering a lot of damage because of that account.
