A person and a child have been injured and are receiving treatment following an accident involving a van and a motorcycle on the Sinamalé Bridge highway.

Police said today that an accident between a van exiting the Seaplane Terminal area and a motorcycle traveling on the highway was reported at around 5:53 PM today.

Police said that the motorcycle rider and a 6-year-old who was on the motorcycle were injured in the accident.

Police said that the injured child is being treated at Treetop Hospital, and the motorcycle rider is being treated at Hulhumalé Hospital. However, they did not disclose details of the injuries sustained.

Police are investigating the accident.
