64 percent of the land reclamation and shore protection work in R. Ungoofaaru has been completed.
The contractor of the project, Maldives Transport and Contracting Company (MTCC), said that dredging and reclamation works under the Ungoofaaru land reclamation and shore protection project have now been completed.
"The rocks needed to restart the shore protection work have now been supplied to the area. The overall progress of the project is at 64 percent," MTCC said.
Under the Ungoofaaru land reclamation and shore protection project, the work includes reclaiming 10 hectares of land, constructing 838.60 meters of rock revetment, and constructing 75 meters of rock groyne.
This project is worth MVR 71.08 million. The Ministry of Planning assigned the Ungoofaaru shore protection work to MTCC on August 23, 2022.
